About Me:
Adam Lonon is the founder/owner of Adam Lonon Basketball and a professional basketball skill development trainer. He is also certified as a sports conditioning specialist helping to develop athletes through the implementation of sports-specific programs. Adam Lonon grew up playing basketball in the Powhatan County School System. After helping lead the Powhatan High School Junior Varsity squad to a 17-3 record, from a recruiting standpoint, he transferred to The Steward School in the West End of Richmond, playing for Hall of Fame coach Butch Keller. At Steward, Adam helped lead the Men's Varsity team to 64 wins over his three year high school career. His success at the Steward School helped secure a full-scholarship to the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, VA.
Upon arriving at VMI, Adam faced many obstacles such as a fractured toe during his freshman season and a torn hamstring that inhibited him from playing the first 3 months of his junior season. Fighting through adversity, Adam helped lead VMI's team to a combined total of 62 wins over four years including two Big South Championship appearances in 2007 and 2009 starting over . Co-captaining the 2009-2010 Men's squad, Adam started 81 games in his collegiate career.
Playing alongside players such as Reggie Williams (NBA, Golden State Warriors), Travis Holmes (Former D-League/Pro Player), Chavis Holmes (Pro Player, Mexico), Matt Murrer (Former Pro Player/Portugal) and Carl Josey (Pro Player/Iceland), he understood and appreciated the work ethic needed to take one's game to the next level.
Adam earned his B.A. degree in Economics and Business with distinction. After coaching Girls basketball at his Alma Mater, the Steward School, where he led them to 3 state tournaments in 4 years, he currently coaches at the Trinity Episcopal School. In his first 3 years, he has accumulated over 50 wins and has claimed two Times Dispatch Invitational Tournament Championships.
